To build a community of high achieving African-American students that are prepared to lead and compete in high school, college and beyond.



To engage and empower our community of parents and students to navigate the educational system, gain access to opportunities and influence the decisions that impact the success of our students.



Through quarterly meetings and ongoing support, we will provide information, tools, and networking opportunities to help parents and staff ensure the academic success of our African-American students.

AAPSN Objectives


For Students

  • Promote and support high academic achievement among African-American students

  • Increase enrollment for African-American students in Enrichment, GT, Magnet, and Honors/AP classes

  • Provide educational and cultural opportunities that promote leadership development and overall student success


For Parents

  • Increase school presence and engagement of African-American parent community

  • Provide support and advocacy for parents and guardians of African-American students with Teachers and Principals

  • Empower parent community with information, tools, and networking opportunities that support student success
