Wootton High School PTSA Logo Design Competition

The Wootton Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) is sponsoring a design competition, open to all Wootton students, to create a Wootton logo. The winning design will be featured on the PTSA website, the parent/student directory, and as a logo choice for all apparel/gear available through our SquadLocker store for approximately one year.

PTSA is asking students to create a three-part design:

  • (1) "W"

  • (2) "Wootton"

  • (3) Wootton Patriots logo that is an original design of the student

 

All 3 parts above should be part of an overall theme.

Competition Guidelines:

  • The competition is open to all Wootton students

  • All designs must be submitted no later than December 1, 2020.

  • Designs should be submitted to ptsa_treasurer@tswoottonhs.org. You can email the files or send a link to a shared drive.

  • Designs should be within the parameters listed below.

Winner Determination

  • After submissions are received, they will be reviewed by Wootton teachers and staff. In the first round of voting, all teachers and staff will be able to vote one (1) time to select their favorite design. Once the teacher/staff votes are tallied, the top five designs will be displayed on the Wootton website. 

  • In the second round of voting, all PTSA members (parents, students, teachers/staff) will receive one vote (details on how to vote will be sent to all members after the competition has closed). 

  • The design that receives the most votes will be the winner.

Prizes

  • 1st Place: $300 cash prize and $100 in apparel from SquadLocker with your design

  • 2nd Place: $150 cash prize and $75 in apparel from SquadLocker

  • 3rd Place: $50 cash prize and $50 in apparel from SquadLocker

  • 4th Place: Honorable Mention and $50 in apparel from SquadLocker

  • 5th Place: Honorable Mention and $50 in apparel from SquadLocker

Design Parameters

  • Please use PNG or JPG images

  • File sizes should be no smaller than 20KB or 400x400 pixels for the best results in uploading your logos

 

Guidelines for Printed Logos

  • Printed logos generally appear in larger format on apparel such as full-front tees, hoodies, and sweats.

  • There is no limit to the number of colors in your printed logo

  • Colors must be solid, without any highlights, gradients, or shadows

 

Because it impacts the quality of the printed product, logos cannot contain the following:

  • Highlights

  • Gradients

  • Glitter or Metallic effects

  • Drop shadows

  • Photographs, or photograph-like images

  • Drawings

  • Trademark symbols

Guidelines for Embroidered Logos

Embroidered logos generally appear in smaller format on apparel such as polos, jackets, hats and bags (anything with hardware). You are not required to submit two logo versions. SquadLocker will make necessary modifications to your print logo to ensure the highest quality embroidery application.

In addition to the Printed Logo Guidelines above, here are some helpful tips:

  • Distinctive colors work best

  • Small details may be simplified

  • Thin lines or multiple lines that are close together may be modified

  • Maximum of two outlines around your logo, and one around text

  • Text size must be no smaller than 0.25” at actual size of embroidery
